UMnuz Kgadi Moabelo, okhulumela i-Association for Dietetics in South Africa (Adsa), uthe iqhaza lama-suppliment wukusiza ukubhalansisa nokwengeza isilinganiso sokudla okunempilo emzimbeni womuntu, hhayi ukuwasebenzisela ukugwema ukudla okunempilo.
“Uma sikhetha uhlobo lokudla esikudlayo nesizokudla ngezikhathi ezithile kuphela, maningi amathuba okuthi singabi bikho isidingo sama-suppliment.
“Kodwa ezikhathini ezithile, ezifana nalapho umuntu asuke egula khona, noma ezama ukululama esimweni esithile, kungasiza lapho ukuwasebenzisa ama-supplement,” kucacisa uMnuz Moabelo.
Eqhuba, uthe okufanele abantu bakwenze, wukuqala ngokukhuluma nongoti bezokudla nabezempilo kuqala, ukwazi ngemigudu okufanele bayilandele, ngaphambi kokuthatha izinqumo ezingaba wubungozi kubona.
“Uma usebenzisa ama-suppliment, kufanele kube khona ungoti wezokudla okusiza ngemigudu okumele uyilandele, ukuze ugagcini usuwasebenzisa noma sekungenasidingo.
“Wona asiza impela uma kufanele, kodwa inhloso yokuwasebenzisa kufanele kube ngeyokuzisiza ukubhalansisa izinga lokudla okunempilo emzimbeni kuphela, nakhona ngokuyalelwa ngabezempilo,” kuchaza uMoabelo.
UNksz Retha Harmse, owungoti wezempilo ngaphansi kwe-Adsa, uthe eminyakeni embalwa edlule, ukunganaki kwabantu indlela abadla ngayo, kugcine kubalimaza emqondweni nasemoyeni.
“Uma ungadli ukudla okunempilo okwanele, umzimba wakho ugcina usungabi nazo izakhamzimba ezanele ezidingekayo, okungagcina kulimaza indlela okusebenza ngayo ingqondo, ugcine uba nenhliziyo encane futhi ungabi namdlandla wokusebenza,” kusho uNksz Harmse.
“Kuningi kakhulu abantu okusamele bakufunde baphine bakwazi ngezempilo, kodwa okukhulu kunakho konke, wukuthi kusemqoka ukuthola ukwesekwa wungoti wezokudla ukuze uhlale unempilo,” kweluleka uNksz Harmse.
