Lo mkhuba wokuvalela ngaphandle abangenzi kahle wenziwa izikole ukuze bangazidonseli phansi uma sebefeyila bese “bengcolisa” igama elihle lezikole ikakhulu lezo ezihlale zithola o-100% kwa-matric.

Uthe liphezulu izinga lokuncintisana ezikoleni njengoba bebaningi abaphasayo.
UMweli usho lokhu nje, minyaka yonke kuhlale kukhalwa ngokuthi baba ngaphezu kuka-1.2 million abafundi abaqala uGrade R, kodwa uma sekubhalwa izivivinyo zika-matric basuke sebebalelwa kuhhafu noma ngaphezudlwana.
Nyakenye bangaphezu kuka-700 000 abafundi ababhale u-matric.
UMweli uthe akusoze kwenzeka ukuthi abafundi abasuke beqale kwa-Grade R, bafinyelele kwa-matric ngonyaka owodwa.
Uveze ukuthi ziningi izizathu ezenza lokhu okubalwa abaphinda ikilasi kanjalo nabashiya phansi isikole bengaqedanga.
Ubale nalabo abagcina sebeya emakolishi amakhono ama-TVET, beyoqedela khona izifundo zabo.
“Kunohlelo esinalo lokududula abafundi abasuke bengaphasanga baye kwamanye amabanga kanjalo nakwa-matric. Laba bafundi bagcine sebegila izimanga kwa-matric, abanye baphase ngama-Bachelor bakwazi ukuya emanyuvesi,” kusho uMweli.
Uveze ukuthi abanye abafundi bagcina sebebhala u-matric ngasese.
Nyakenye bangu-155 948 abebebhalisele ukuthi bazobhala ngasese kodwa kugcine kubhale abangu-106 584 kuphela.
UNgqongqoshe walo mnyango, uNksz Siviwe Gwarube, uthe kudingeka kube nohlelo lokukwazi ukuhlonza ukuthi bakuphi abafundi abalaxaze isikole bangaqeda.
“Ulwazi esinalo alukwazi ukuveza ukuthi ukuphi umfundi ngamunye ongasiqedi isikole. Kudingeka kube nokusebenzisana kweminyango ukuze sazi ukuthi laba bafundi bakuphi,” kusho uNksz Gwarube.
